New Features:

• Xview: splitview has been enhanced and renamed Xview. Among the new features available are:
  • a new details view mode to complement the existing icon view
  • menu-accessible view options that are specific to Xview
  • the ability to set Xview as the system default folder view
  Multiple pre-existing bugs and deficiencies in splitview have also been fixed.

• XWP Lite: in addition to the standard XWP "Full" version, there is now a "Lite" version as well. It is very similar to eWP which was included in eComStation but uses XWP's own icons and branding. Lite also includes XWP Startup Folders which were missing from eWP.

• NLS Packaging: for each supported language (DE/EN/IT/JA/NL) the XWP build system now creates a complete package with all needed components. It is no longer necessary for users to install a base package and then another package that supports their language. The original NLS packaging system can still be used to create new language versions. After installing a supported package, the user can then install the new language version on top of it. • Build System Customization: the XWP build system has been extensively revised to permit builders to create their own customized "full" and "lite" builds of XWP without making any changes to the source code. Full details of these changes along with how-to instructions can be found in "buildme.xwp" and "ecs\buildme.ecs" located within the XWP source tree. Bug 1254 [rw]

Updates and Bugfixes:

• Installation: the WarpIn installer now creates objects using entries in os2.ini that are processed by the WPS after a reboot or a Desktop restart. This is the same method the OS installer uses and was required to support NLS Packaging changes. Several install-related bugs were also fixed.

• Treesize: when used on a folder containing a large number of subfolders, pressing "Refresh" or "Clear" would cause the app to crash due to memory deallocation errors. Bug 1271 [le]

• Mouse: additional window types that are incompatible with Sliding Focus have been excluded. Bug 1263 [ab]

• ACPI: ACPI-related code in xwphelpers has been updated to v3.23.04. Bug 1273 [da]

• Folder Sorting: folders were not resorted after an object was renamed. Bug 1266 [rw]

• Build System: mutiple small changes to support new features and ensure consistency between the full and lite versions, and between various NLS versions.

• Restart Desktop: programs whose icons were on the Desktop would close automatically even when "Close all sessions" was unchecked. This folder work-area behavior has been suppressed. Bug 1264 [rw]
