#2 No sound after suspend/resume on Thinkpad T22 (Crystal) UNIAUD32 ALSA Hardware Compatibility defect normal 01/24/06

I installed RC1 of UniAudio? 1.1.4. The driver works well on the notebook. I have sound in the WPS, and also with Z!. Also, when I remove the AC power and run on battery, the sound is OK! (the CPU throttles down automatically)

When I do a suspend/resume with the Thinpad, there is no sound afterwards. When I try to play an MP3 with Z!, Z! "hangs". (I can kill it) Also, no sound in the WPS.

What do you need to fix that ?

The current implementation of make file leaves lots of cruft behind. It would be good it this was not the case.

#108 On nVidia nForce3 AC'97 (10DE:00EA) no sound - "sputters" in RC6 UNIAUD32 1.1.4GA defect normal 02/25/08

Using a Giga-byte GA-K8NSC-939 based PC (Athlon 64 3200+) with eCS 2.0rc4. All RC's up to now worked fine. RC5 produces no sound (Nvidia CK8S/Realtek ALC850 - 10DE:00EA). I tried uniaud16.sys from rc4 with uniaud32.sys from rc5 and it 'works', but every sound starts with a weird 'sputter'. Uniaud16.sys from rc5 and uniaud32.sys from rc4 produces no sound. I will attach the logs for both rc5 files loaded.

#142 unimix Documentation Documentation 1.1.4GA task normal 09/22/08

Currently, there is no documentation for unimix, leading to (among other things) lack of sufficient feedback from testers whose hardware requires setting/getting various input/output levels.

All parameters should be addressed, with an easy-to-read drill-down list of what id does what.

The documentation should initially be in the form of a simple txt file, but later compiled into a .inf with standard documentation for Uniaud itself (see separate ticket).

#143 Uniaud Documentation UNIAUD16 1.1.4GA task minor 09/22/08

Currently, the only documentation for Uniaud comes in the form a readme text file. My impression is that few people bother getting more than halfway down through the file, and it does not serve as a handy local reference due to its text format.

I propose migrating much of the standard text in the current readme to a .inf, and reserving the readme for changes and updates. Ultimately, unimix documentation should be included in the reference documentation (see ticket #142).

The component on this ticket should be "Docuemntation" and this will be recharacterized when that category is available.

#18 UNIAUD does not deal properly with audio buffers UNIAUD16 MMPM/2 Compatibility defect normal 03/06/06

I reported this bug around July last year. I gues it got snowed in. Uniaud seems to have issue's with issue's with dealing with audio buffers. This bug does not only occur with the versions of which I reported this around 9 months ago. The problems are still there with the latest build from the Netlabs FTP server. Its also chipset independent and has been tested on about 5 machines. This audio buffer problems can result in hanging applications that can not be killed (waiting for an audio buffer event!?), audio device being blocked or even in some rare cases a system trap.

Vladest I have provided you with version of Quickmotion. Its licensed and included with each install of eComstation 1.2 or higher. I can send it to you privately again.

Old email I send:

With this same MPG file (bloopersextra.MPG) the audio playback results in hanging desktop (can still do a C-A-D). So something is chocking on the audio buffers !? I did get a TRAP once when playing MPEG files with IBM's open MPG. Can you pinpoint where this code >crashed ? Its not an easy bug to reproduce with UNIAUD. But it would be nice Valdest >if you could tell what your driver was doing when the system crashed. The UNIAUD >version in use is: uniaud16.sys 61510 04-06-28 Signature: @#"OS/2 Universal Audio Driver Version":1.00.005#@ Vendor: "OS/2 Universal Audio Driver Ve Revision: 1.00.005 File Version: 1.0 Description: uniaud32.sys 451952 04-08-09 (No buildlevel information). (Time staps may not be correct) This crash seems to be related to a bug in the MMOS/2 audio buffer handling. Exception in module: UNIAUD32 TRAP 000e ERRCD=0000 ERACC=**** ERLIM=******** EAX=00002046 EBX=00000000 ECX=f9d24ae4 EDX=f9d24ae4 ESI=f9d24ba8 EDI=ee244de8 EBP=ee18af1c FLG=00012046 CS:EIP=0168:ee242a65 CSACC=c09b CSLIM=ffffffff SS:ESP=1550:f9d24acc SSACC=c093 SSLIM=ffffffff DS=0160 DSACC=c093 DSLIM=ffffffff CR0=8001001b ES=0160 ESACC=c093 ESLIM=ffffffff CR2=00000094 FS=0000 FSACC=**** FSLIM=******** GS=0000 GSACC=**** GSLIM=******** I sadly no longer have the memory dump. I know you can tell me to use the latest UNIAUD but so fat this is the most stable version in my opion. Vladest with eCS 1.2 and UNIAUD the following files also don't playback properly or have sound problems: Vladest you already know this one. It begins to play and then halts. http://os2.mensys.nl/rwklein/winsongs.mov. (75MB!)

Just tested again with the latest UNIAUD. It begins to play. audio stops after 10 seconds and then video dies.

This does not happen with the Soundmax driver. http://os2.mensys.nl/rwklein/lou.avi No sound at all. Plays with the soundmax driver. http://os2.mensys.nl/rwklein/frtrain.avi With UNIAUD NO sound but it plays back. The video player then can no longer be killed Plays oke with the soundmax driver.

Situation of last 2 testcases still the same.

#111 uniaud 114rc5 works not so well with cs4281 UNIAUD32 ALSA Hardware Compatibility defect critical 03/02/08

I've ever installed uniaud package in ECS1.2R and ECS2.0RC4 but all don't work with my old CS4281 pci audio card. Last week I download the latest uniaud 114rc5 then I tried in the ecs2.0rc4. It works with cs4281 but the sound is not smooth, it's like heavy distortion.

#53 Intel HDAudio ICH7 and Realtek ALC883 choppy sound through Dart UNIAUD16 HDA defect major 06/15/07

Playing sound through UNIAUD API (WarpVision?) works fine, but playing through Dart only works corect for first sound. Sounds after that are cut either at start or end. Often the player doesn't exit, which can make WPS hang, if system sounds are enabled.

Attached log shows a mem allocation problem.

#92 System freeze on Beep RC4 UNIAUD16 HDA defect normal 12/04/07

Using ECS RC3 on Asus P5K Motherboard with Realtek 8 channel sound. The driver load and detection appears OK, but the system freezes when it attemps to Beep, such as clicking on a greyed out item or when a program prompts for input. The Beep is not sounded.

The issue seems to be with UNIDAUD16.SYS, if I comment this out then the beep sounds (on the case speaker) and there is no freeze. I get no sound generated on the speaker output.
