#170 No sound from Uniaud 14RC7, Yamaha YMF754 UNIAUD32 defect blocker 07/01/09

#53 Intel HDAudio ICH7 and Realtek ALC883 choppy sound through Dart UNIAUD16 HDA defect major 06/15/07

Playing sound through UNIAUD API (WarpVision?) works fine, but playing through Dart only works corect for first sound. Sounds after that are cut either at start or end. Often the player doesn't exit, which can make WPS hang, if system sounds are enabled.

Attached log shows a mem allocation problem.

#178 eCS 2.0 GA No Sound UNIAUD32 HDA defect critical 06/01/10

Uniaud failure on IBM ThinkCentre? M52, model 8113D5U. Has "SoundMax? intregrated audio" chip.

Installation of eCS 2.0 GA with Uniaud selected produces no sound.

Debuginfo.zip has been created.

#171 SB Live silent with 1.9.19 UNIAUD16 defect major 08/13/09

The uniaud32.sys from the 1.9.19 build works fine on my SB Live 5.1 card, but the uniaud16.sys (448+) causes my card to be silent. The one included in 1.9.16 (418) works fine with the newer uniaud32.sys. I do not have any ACPI driver installed.

What jumps out at me is the garbage at the end of the PCM device name. Looks like some string corruption happening there...

#150 no sound with Uniaud_114R396_198R387 UNIAUD32 defect normal 10/21/08

Chipsets involved: nVidia HDA (nForce430/MCP61) with AD1988 mixer

Using uniaud16.sys from uniaud114RC6 and uniaud32.sys from  http://download.smedley.info/uniaud32-1.9.2.zip audio works. Log attached as debuginfo_1.9.2.zip

Replacing the above working files with those from  http://download.smedley.info/Uniaud_114R396_198R387.zip I have no audio following a reboot. Log attached as debuginfo.zip

A brief glance into the output produced by the unimix -list command reveals that there is a problem - have a look at Control ID3 in the mixer logs in the attached zips.

#162 SB Audigy SE - no sound with U114-RC6 UNIAUD32 defect normal 12/26/08

When eCS starts the screen shows among others: [SB0570] AT 0Xbc00 irq 21 Mixer:

The Mixer line is empty.

So, Audigy is somehow recognized but no sound.

#172 no sound with uniaud 1.9.19 UNIAUD32 defect normal 08/13/09

The System (motherboard ASUS M3A79-T Deluxe) is booting, but there is no sound.

With uniaud32.sys version 1.9.16 and uniaud16.sys version 1.1.4 RC6 2. Apr. 2008 it is running stable.

#174 No sound - eCS 2.0 Silver (RC7) UNIAUD32 HDA defect normal 12/01/09

Installed to a Toshiba Satellite P105-S6147 intel Pentium Dual-Core T2060 processor. Audio device in the laptop is an Integrated 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02)

ACPI support was installed with /SMP and /EIS options. System boots fine - keyboard is a bit 'slow' and the mouse (USB) a bit 'jumpy', but I do not have working sound. Looking for a solution or directions/suggestions on what to look for/at or do to get my sound working.

Not sure here, what 'Version' applies to, so I may have that incorrect.

Thank you.

#176 UNIAUD 1.9.22 volume control problem UNIAUD32 defect normal 01/13/10

Hi/2.

Thanks for your hard works.

BTW I have a volume control problem.

PM123, z!, WVGUI and many other application cannot control a volume.

Nevertheless, 'VOLUME' control in Multimedia folder works fine.

I'm using 'HDA ATI SB' card and 'SigmaTel? STAC9200' mixer.

#180 Uniaud finds onboard HDAudio (AMD ATI Radeion) UNIAUD32 defect normal 06/14/10

Uniaud finds onboard HDAudio (AMD ATI Radeion onboard audio adapter) although user wants to use other audio adapter.

How to force uniaud use other adapter?

RUS:

Glassman:

froloff:

Её как раз ACPI и разбуживает. Почему униауд её первой обрабатывает я не знаю. Попробуй без ACPI загрузиться - скорее всего будет всё нормально.

#181 Incorrect mixer controls on nVidia HDA MCP61 audio + Analog Devices AD1988 mixer UNIAUD32 defect normal 06/23/10

uniaud191_1922 report

Hardware: nVidia HDA MCP61 audio + Analog Devices AD1988 mixer

Installed the uniaud*.sys drivers and rebooted

No looping Startup sound.

smplayer still works, vlc - no sound.

Klondike Solitaire plays very slowly - not sure if this is uniaud related but with the uniaud drivers usually in use here this game is much quicker.

os2chess crashed after several minutes use - may or may not be related to uniaud drivers.

I needed to reboot due to the os2chess crash and it took 3 attempts before getting the system booted without looping startup sounds.

This is actually a big improvement over the uniaud_1922 supplied with eCS2.0GA which *never* booted without looping startup sounds but is not as good as the drivers usually in use here, uniaud16.sy from 114rc6 and uniaud32.sys from uniaud32_192, which very rarely suffer from the looping startup sounds problem - the most reboots needed is *1* if looping sounds occur.

Possibly of interest: Reading the Control ID list obtained by this command

unimix -list > ad1988.txt

Shows Control ID to be incorrect:-

The [Headphone Playback Volume] should be Control ID 3 but is in fact missing from the Control ID list. All Control IDs from 3 inclusive are therefore incorrect.

uniaud 1.9.2 is the *last* build of uniaud that got that right:-

I have now reverted to the uniaud builds mentioned above as they work better.

The IRQ used by uniaud when using either uniaud191_1922 or the working drivers is IRQ11 which is not shared with any other device.

#183 Click at end of sound using Uniaud32 2.1.x UNIAUD32 defect normal 07/17/10

Hardware: NVidia CK8S with Realtek ALC850 rev 0

Using UniAud?193-21 most sounds end with a 'click' noise. Very short sounds (like the folder-open sound from XWP) do not have it. Longer sounds (like the desktop startup sound) do have it.

UniAud?191-1922 works perfectly.

The combination of 193-21 UNIAUD16.SYS and 191-1922 UNIAUD32.SYS also seems to work perfectly (so far). So something must have changed in the new UNIAUD32.SYS for this hardware?

#187 Sound loops (repeating sound) with UNIAUD 193-21 and SBLive 5.1 card on eCS SMP ACPI 3.14 UNIAUD32 ALSA Hardware Compatibility defect normal 07/23/10

Applications sound output (e.g. Z!, Emperoar TV)runs into a loop (repeating sound). It happens randomly, sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes after half an hour. The sound loop can be stopped by pausing the movie or the music stream for a while. After restarting the sound everything is back to normal.

#142 unimix Documentation Documentation Stabilization task normal 09/22/08

Currently, there is no documentation for unimix, leading to (among other things) lack of sufficient feedback from testers whose hardware requires setting/getting various input/output levels.

All parameters should be addressed, with an easy-to-read drill-down list of what id does what.

The documentation should initially be in the form of a simple txt file, but later compiled into a .inf with standard documentation for Uniaud itself (see separate ticket).

#143 Uniaud Documentation UNIAUD16 Stabilization task minor 09/22/08

Currently, the only documentation for Uniaud comes in the form a readme text file. My impression is that few people bother getting more than halfway down through the file, and it does not serve as a handy local reference due to its text format.

I propose migrating much of the standard text in the current readme to a .inf, and reserving the readme for changes and updates. Ultimately, unimix documentation should be included in the reference documentation (see ticket #142).

The component on this ticket should be "Docuemntation" and this will be recharacterized when that category is available.

#147 new audio Hardware UNIAUD32 enhancement normal 10/15/08

Hello, I installed eCS 1.2R (german) on a DT Research DT166 micro PC, which is based on AMD Geode LX8ß00 with comanion chip CS5536. The peripheral chips are RTL8139C for LAN and Realtek ALC203A for Audio.

My question: Is it possible to support this hardware? As I saw, nearly all Geode-based Boards have this Hardware, especially the nice Alix Boards from PC Engines  http://www.pcengines.ch/alix1d.htm

I tried UNIAUD in several versions, but it does not load.

many greetings from Germany and CU/2, Martin
