OdinTool version 0.5.003 ======================== OdinTool is a little utility I wrote to accomplish a few tasks: 1.) Make the installation of Odin daily buildfiles (which are currently not available) a matter of a mouseclick. In addition a registry file (Custom.REG) that can hold custom entries to override the default ones OdinInst.EXE writes into the registry. 2.) Provide a frontend for Odin.INI settings. This did never work well is incomplete and ought to be removed. 3.) Workaround to make OdinBug happy for people that do not have buildfiles on their hard disk. ODINTOOL COMES AS IS, WITHOUT ANY PARTICULAR GUARANTEE, NEITHER EXPLICIT OR IMPLICIT. USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK! PLEASE READ THIS FILE COMPLETELY BEFORE USING ODINTOOL! 1. Prerequsites: - Odin installed at least once via WarpIN - OdinBug 0.5.3a or better (0.5.010 recommended) installed and at least used once (in order to have the buildfile directory saved). - VROBJ.DLL in LIBPATH (get it from your Warp4 CD-ROM or download VROBJ.WPI from ftp://ftp.os2.org/odin/daily) - REXXINI.DLL (it comes with OdinTool) in your LIBPATH REXXINI.DLL belongs to: 旼컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴 R E X X I N I Rexx API's for manipulation of Text Based INI Files (used by WINOS2) Written: Steven Elliott - CompuServe 100032,1454 Useful for manipulating and fixing text ini files used by DOS and windows programs. Freeware. 읕컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴컴 - OdinTool *MUST* be in the same directory as OdinBug.EXE - Eventually Regedit.EXE from Win95/98/ME (*NOT* the OS/2 Regedit2.EXE) - InfoZIP's UNZIP.EXE somewhere in your PATH 2. Features: 2.1 Setup checking It checks the WarpIN database to determine where Odin is installed. It displays what it finds out. This cannot be changed currently. This might be useful to take a quick look at the integrity... 2.2 Install button: Pressing this, will present you a file selection box of your buildfiles directory with all buildfiles available for selection. Choose one and it will be unZIPped in the correct place, OdinInst.EXE will be called. As a next step Regedit.EXE will be called with a file named Custom.REG as its parameter (if Custom.REG exists). Using this feature, you can easily overwrite some registry keys, that OdinInst.EXE just has created (plus overwrite a previous setting). Calling OdinTool for the first time will create an appropriate Custom.REG file in the directory where OdinTool resides (should be the Odin directory). Note: If Regedit.EXE is not present in your Odin directory, you will get an error message about a missing file from Odin! Note: Using the "Create/Update WPS object(s)" function in the menu will associate odin32bin-*.ZIP files with OdinTool. You may now double click on the buildfile and OdinTool is fired up, ready to install the new buildfile. 2.3. Execute Regedit As the name suggests this calls Regedit.EXE (the Win32 version as described above). 2.4 Odin.INI pages You may use these pages to modify some available settings in Odin.INI. Look into the Project Odin User's Manual to find out about these settings. 3. Author: Herwig Bauernfeind, 21-02-2004
