The
&xcenter;
"Battery Power" widget displays the power state of your computer
and can pop up a Low Power alert when the battery drops below
a selected level.
This widget is intended for laptops. On systems which have no battery
installed, it can only report "No battery". As a rule of thumb, if the WPS "Power"
object is working correctly on your laptop, the power widget should also work.
With a battery installed, the power widget reports:
- the current power source for the system using a small icon
with either a plug or a battery.
- the percentage of the battery's capacity still remaining.
The display is updated every ten seconds.
Low Power Alert
Select 'Properties' from the widget's menu to set up alerts when your battery
is running low. The Alert popup will always be displayed on top of other
windows but won't interfere with their use.
- Check "Warn when the power drops to..." to enable alerts.
- Choose a threshold for the first alert: it can be set from 2% to 25%
of battery capacity.
- To enable repeated warnings, check "Repeat for each drop of...", then
choose an interval.
For example, you could set the initial warning at 15% with additional warnings
every time the power drops another 5%. This would produce popups at
15%, 10%, and 5% (but not at 0%).
Note that you can
drag and drop fonts and colors
onto the power widget.
You can also double-click on the widget to have the regular WPS
"Power" object opened quickly.
