Description

Inbuilt soundcard: Realtek HD audio, detected mixer realtek ALC883. Sound works, but volume is constant, not adjustable. Whole system typically freezes after playing 2-3 sounds regardless - as I can see - of how long time these sounds lasts. Everything gets freezed, mousepointer too. Ctrl + Alt + Del has no effect at all. Power off button on computer is the only way to shut down. A previous release, maybee RC1 or version before that worked better if not good.

Can I have a more exact description of what "worked better if not good" means? Did it simply not freeze?

To trace where this went wrong, I need to know exactly the latest version that does not freeze, and the earliest version that does.

Then, mixing the versions of uniaud32 and uniaud16 would isolate which driver causes the problem.

The mixer controls I would consider a separate issue.

I will have to try this out, because I'm not shure which version it was. I'll be back, it will take some days.

Sorry to say I don't have ecSrC1 and ecsbeta4 left so I can't test uniauds following those versions.ecsRC2 I did never install so it coudn't be that one. On the other hand others have reported similar problems at ecs news portal and refered to RC1 as the better one. For my part the freezings were not at all so frequent in that earlier release. This probably don't help you, but anyway it's said.

Please test with unaiud32.sys from http://download.smedley.info/uniaud32-1.9.2.zip - preferably with unaiud16.sys from 1.1.4RC5
